Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)

  2. While the oven is heating up, prepare the sausages by cutting each link into fifths. This will give you bite-sized pieces that are perfect for snacking.

  3. Once the oven is heated, place the cut sausages on a baking tray. Make sure they are spread out evenly and not overlapping.

  4. Bake the sausages for 8 minutes. This will give them a head start on cooking and allow them to develop a little bit of color.

  5. While the sausages are cooking, prepare the glaze by combining the maple syrup, sweet and hot stone ground mustard, and dried crushed sage leaves in a bowl. Stir well to ensure that all ingredients are fully combined.

  6. After the sausages have cooked for 8 minutes, remove them from the oven and brush them with the syrup glaze. Make sure to coat them evenly and thoroughly.

  7. Place the sausages back in the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the sausages are fully cooked and heated through. Keep an eye on them during this time to make sure they do not burn.

  8. While the sausages are finishing up in the oven, prepare the pretzel sticks by breaking them into small pieces that are roughly the same size as the sausage pieces.

  9. Once the sausages are fully cooked, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Then, insert a pretzel stick into each sausage piece. This will create an edible toothpick that is perfect for snacking.

  10. Serve the chicken sausage bites warm, and enjoy! They make a great appetizer or snack for any occasion
