Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Crack the 6 eggs into a mixing bowl and whisk them together until fully combined.
-
In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
-
Once the butter is melted and the skillet is heated, pour in the whisked eggs.
-
Cook the eggs until they are thickened and not running, stirring occasionally. This should take around 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
While the eggs are cooking, take the round loaf of sourdough bread and cut 1/4 off from the top. Use a knife to carefully hollow out the inside of the bread, making sure not to cut through the bottom or sides of the bread.
-
Once the eggs are cooked, layer the bottom of the hollowed-out bread with half of the sliced deli ham, followed by half of the shredded Monterey jack cheese, and then half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
-
Next, add the cooked eggs to the bread, spreading them out in an even layer.
-
Add a layer of thinly sliced tomato on top of the eggs, followed by the remaining deli ham slices, Monterey Jack cheese, and cheddar cheese.
-
Place the top of the bread back on top of the filling and press down lightly to secure it.
-
Transfer the filled bread onto a baking sheet and place it into the preheated oven.
-
Bake the bread for 25 minutes or until it is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Once the bread is fully baked, remove it from the oven and allow it to stand for 10 minutes before cutting into it.
-
To serve, slice the bread into four servings and enjoy!
